Meet Kate

Hi, I'm Kate. I want to help you listen to yourself.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a master's in Social Work from Fordham University and a master's in Human Sexuality from New York University. I've spent nearly ten years working with sexuality, relationships, LGBTQIA+ issues, and gender identity — and I'm kink / poly / alt lifestyle-friendly as well.

Alongside my private practice, I spent the last four years as the Social Relationships and Sexuality Educator at Wildwood Programs in Latham, NY. That work — staff training, policy revision, sexual-consent evaluation, and program consulting — still informs how I support individuals, families, and agencies today.

Approach

Although I might use all kinds of techniques, I tend to favor aspects of CBT, DBT, EFT, Motivational Interviewing, and Creative Arts Therapies. Personally, I strive to bring my clients warmth, compassion, acceptance, and above all — a safe space.

FAQ

Good questions to ask up front

Do you take insurance?

Not at this time. I work on a sliding-scale private-pay basis. I can provide a superbill on request for you to submit to your out-of-network benefits.

Are sessions in person or online?

Right now, all sessions — counseling, coaching, and classes — are offered via Telehealth only, using phone, Google Meet, or Zoom. Consulting for agencies can be arranged in-person or remotely.

Who do you work with?

Individuals and couples across New York. I specialize in sexuality, relationships, LGBTQIA+ identities, disability (including autism and I/DD), bariatric/weight-management support, and general life and career change. Coaching and classes are for ages 16+; adolescent topics (10+) available when directed by a parent.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Individual sessions are 60 minutes, weekly. Couples or group sessions are 90 minutes, weekly. The 6-week coaching classes follow a set weekly structure; ongoing coaching can continue as long as it's useful and can be terminated any time.

How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?

Honestly? Reach out and we'll talk. If I'm not the right fit for what you're working on, I'll do my best to point you toward someone who is. You deserve someone you feel safe and productive enough to grow with.

What if I have a specialized or unusual need?

Tell me — let's see if I might help. Custom rates may need to be discussed for especially unique support, but I'd rather have the conversation than turn you away at the door.
